Mukolo Camp
Eco-friendly riverside camp on the Kwando floodplains with shady campsites and simple cabins
Mukolo Camp is a small riverside camp within the Mayuni Conservancy on the banks of the Kwando River in Namibia’s Caprivi. Six shaded campsites each offer a power point, water tap and shared ablutions with hot showers and flush toilets, while a handful of simple cabins provide a roofed alternative for travellers who prefer not to camp. A compact swimming pool and a laid-back riverside bar/deck make the most of the view across the floodplain. Activities focus on the river and surrounding wetlands: boat cruises, fishing and birding, plus relaxed scenic drives and self-guided walks under large jackalberry and mangosteen trees. Meals are available on request with a homestyle feel. The camp is accessible by normal sedan in dry conditions via the main Bwabwata corridor roads and makes a peaceful stop between Kongola and the Mudumu/Mamili parks, ideal for travellers seeking quiet nature time away from larger lodges.
